Mahal ka ng mahal ko is a song inspired by a sad love story of a girl who envy’s the love that the other person receives from the person she loves. Falling in love for someone who couldn’t give back the love you’re asking for is painful, but love also means only you wishing for his happiness, even if it means with someone else.
The composer once fell in love with his friend, she was really close with the guy. One day she realized that she was falling in love with him, but confessing her feelings might ruin their relationship as friends, she tried to put her feelings into a poem instead of telling him that she’s falling in love with him, for a year she kept everything into herself. Until one day she decided to confess, the guy actually liked her back and their relationship lasted for years but as those years were going on she realized that she loves the guy more and that she was the one who always gives more effort in their relationship.
She got tired and decided to end their relationship even though she knew he was still deeply in love with him. Their communication stopped, after a few years they saw each other again, but this time as friends because the guy is now in love with someone else. The composer saw the poem she made few years she has kept before. This was when Mahal ka ng mahal ko came to existence. The poem she once made for him was made into a song but this time with another person involved, lucky to have the love she was asking for from someone who could never give it back to her.
Mahal ka ng mahal ko is the first song the composer has ever written inspiring her to write even more songs. Songs like this can speak for what the heart really feels and that’s something she thinks what songs are about, to let it all out when words aren’t there to say what a person feels.
