…about Heal Me
Heal Me is a song inspired by very beautiful hospital which at first glance can be compared with a first class hotel. Yet, the gloomy feeling in the atmosphere can never be concealed by the wondrous and clean surrounding. Staying in the hospital can never be called “living in the paradise” since most of the patients suffer on a terminal condition and might be waiting for the “final verdict” to be given in continuing to live or walking to the depths of death.
The composer has an aunt working as a palliative nurse in the said hospital and he used to wait for her until she finished work for the day. Being that type of nurse, she deals with patients with life threatening illnesses such as cancer, advanced heart disease, neurological disorders and dementia as well as those patients suffering from advanced liver, kidney, respiratory illnesses and serious injuries on a regular basis.
Looking at them with various medical equipment connected for life support, is not new to her anymore. While in the premises of the said hospital, the composer felt empathetic towards those patients and imagined the agony of each person lying in the hospital beds and talking to God with his or her past while enduring the pain. This was when Heal Me came to existence.
Heal Me is the first Christian song the composer has ever written pushing him to write even more! Considering the theme of the song, he has first hesitated to include it in his own collection named “Sunny Sunday Songs” but later decided to incorporate it when one of his friends express appreciation for the song.
